Squish is an iPhone and iPad app from Fire in Belly (FatCouple OÜ). Every photo is compressed on your own device.

Last updated: October 25, 2026

Data collected: none.
Squish contains no networking code at all. It does not collect, transmit, or receive any information. There are no accounts, sign-in, analytics, advertising, tracking, crash-reporting services, or third-party SDKs. Your photos never leave your device.

What happens on your device

When you choose a photo, Squish reads it through the standard iOS photo picker and compresses it in memory: it re-encodes a JPEG at different quality levels (and scales the picture down when quality alone is not enough), or, for a PNG, at smaller sizes, until the result fits the target you picked. Then it shows you the result. Squish keeps nothing unless you save or share it.

If you tap Save to Photos, the compressed file is added to your photo library as a new photo. If you tap Share, the compressed file is written to the app's temporary storage so that iOS can hand it to the app you choose through the share sheet. Squish has no server, no database, and no account system, so no copy of your photos exists anywhere except on your own device and wherever you choose to send them.

Permissions

Nothing else is requested. Squish does not ask for camera, microphone, location, contacts, notifications, or app tracking permission.

Version 1.0.1 and later

The Help & Feedback link opens the support page of this website in your browser. That is an ordinary website visit made by your browser, not a request made by the app. The Squish pages on this site set no cookies and run no analytics scripts.

On your second successful save, and at most once per app version, iOS may show Apple's standard rating dialog. Apple controls that dialog, and Squish never learns whether you rated or what you wrote. To decide when to ask, Squish keeps two small values on your device: how many photos you have saved, and the version it last asked for. Neither leaves your device.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose your information, because we never receive any. There are no advertising partners, data brokers, or analytics vendors involved in this app.

Retention and deletion

Nothing reaches us, so there is nothing on our side to store, export, or delete. Compressed photos live in your photo library once you save them, and you can remove them in the Photos app whenever you like. Squish never deletes or changes your original photos. Deleting the app removes it and its on-device state.

Children

The app collects no information from anyone, at any age, including children. It has no accounts, no user-generated content, no advertising, and no in-app purchases.

Payment

Squish is a US$0.99 one-time purchase with no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. Apple handles the transaction and payment details. We receive Apple's sales reports, which do not identify individual buyers.

Changes and contact

If a future version changes how the app handles data, this page and the App Store privacy answers will be updated together and the date above will change. Privacy or support questions: [email protected].
